Michael A. Fuhrman
Dr. Michael Alexander Fuhrman, M.D, F.A.C.G, graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University in 1993 with a BA in psychology. He earned his M.D. in 1997 from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. He trained in Internal Medicine at UMDNJ, including a year as Chief Resident of The University Hospital, and was board certified in Internal Medicine in 2000. He also received his Gastroenterology training at UMDNJ and was board certified in Gastroenterology in 2003.
Dr. Fuhrman has been in practice with Associates in Digestive Diseases since 2003. He maintains privileges at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ where, in addition to treating patients, he is also involved with teaching resident physicians and medical students. He also serves on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for the hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He performs procedures at Overlook Hospital and the Gastro-Surgi Center of New Jersey in Mountainside. He is a member of several medical societies including the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and was recently honored to be elected as a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Fuhrman practices general gastroenterology and hepatology with a specific interest in Acid Reflux disease and Colon Cancer Prevention.
